To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the European electric hoist, regular maintenance work must be carried out. The following is how to judge whether the European electric hoist needs maintenance and some suggestions.
1. Operation Time and Usage Frequency
Usage Duration Standard: To avoid long-term operation, which may cause wear on key components such as motors and reducers and gradually invalidate the lubricating oil, when the cumulative operation time reaches a certain limit (specifically depending on the manufacturer’s suggestions and the complexity of the equipment), a comprehensive maintenance should be considered.
Usage Frequency Consideration: Frequent starting, stopping, and load lifting and lowering will accelerate the fatigue and wear of components. It is advisable to conduct simple inspection and maintenance monthly and more in-depth maintenance every 3-6 months.
2. Performance Performance
Slow Running Speed: When the lifting or running speed of the electric hoist decreases significantly, it may be caused by motor failure, wear of transmission components, or too tight braking of the brake. Uneven speed, such as intermittent pauses or acceleration during the lifting process, may be due to faults in the electrical control system or jamming of mechanical transmission components.
Reduced Load Capacity: If the electric hoist has obvious difficulty in lifting under the rated load, this may be caused by a decrease in motor power, a reduction in the strength of the wire rope due to wear, or damage to the internal gears of the reducer.
Abnormal Braking Performance: Observe whether the braking distance meets the standard. Under normal circumstances, the full-load braking distance of the electric hoist should be within the specified range. If the braking distance is too long, it may cause the heavy object to slide out of control and lead to a safety accident. If there is an abnormal noise during braking, such as a sharp friction sound or impact sound, it may be caused by serious wear of the brake pads, uneven surface of the brake wheel, or failure of the brake spring, and it needs to be repaired in time.
3. Appearance and Components
Wire Rope Condition: Check whether the wire rope has broken wires, wear, deformation, and other conditions. If the wear amount of the wire rope exceeds 10% of the diameter (general standard), or if the number of broken wires in a single strand exceeds the specified proportion (for example, the number of broken wires in a lay length exceeds 5% of the total number of wires), it needs to be replaced or repaired. If there are abnormal shapes such as knots and twists, it will also affect its strength and service life and needs to be sorted out or replaced. At the same time, it is necessary to check the cause of this situation, such as whether the rope guide is damaged.
Hook Condition: Observe whether the hook has wear and cracks. For the situation where the wear amount on the hook surface exceeds 10% of the original size or there are visible cracks, the hook must be stopped from using and replaced. Because once the hook is damaged, it may break when lifting heavy objects, causing the heavy objects to fall.
Motor and Reducer Appearance: If there is oil leakage on the surface of the motor and reducer, it may be that the seal is damaged, resulting in the leakage of lubricating oil. It is necessary to check the seal and replenish the lubricating oil. If the housing is deformed, cracked, and other conditions, it may affect the normal operation and safety of the equipment and also needs to be repaired or replaced in time.
4. Electrical System
Control Buttons and Remote Controls: If the control buttons or remote controls are not sensitive to operation, such as requiring multiple presses to achieve an action or some function keys failing to work, it may be caused by wear of the internal contacts of the buttons, poor contact of the lines, or insufficient battery power of the remote control.
Indicator Light Status: If the indicator lights on the equipment flash abnormally or do not light up, it may indicate that there is a fault in the electrical system, such as the triggering of the overload protection device, abnormal power supply, or control circuit fault, and it is necessary to check the corresponding part of the electrical system in time.
5. Working Environment
Harsh Working Environment: If the European electric hoist works in a harsh environment, such as a humid, corrosive, dusty, or high-temperature environment, a reasonable maintenance cycle should be able to effectively cope with the impact of the environment on the equipment.
Special Working Environment: For some special environments, such as an environment with flammable and explosive gases (using explosion-proof European electric hoists), in addition to routine maintenance, special maintenance and inspection of explosion-proof components are also required. If it is found that the explosion-proof performance decreases during the interval between two maintenances, it is necessary to adjust the maintenance cycle and strengthen the maintenance of explosion-proof related components.
In short, closely monitoring the status of the European electric hoist in terms of operation time, performance performance, appearance components, and electrical system is the key to timely judging whether it needs maintenance. Regular and detailed inspection and maintenance can not only ensure the efficient and stable operation of the electric hoist and prolong the service life of the equipment, but also ensure the safety of the operation and avoid production accidents.
It is hoped that the above content can help you accurately grasp the maintenance timing of the electric hoist and make it better serve your production needs.
